How to Make Chinese Tea

Yesterday, a friend asked me how to make Chinese tea, so I find some useful information.
You can use the tea bags and simply pour two or three tea spoons of the leaves inside the tea bag, twist the bag and place it in the cup. Alternatively if you do not use the tea bags, simply add the leaves to the cup and let them settle in the bottom, this is “The Chinese way”. With the latter, not only do you enjoy the taste and aroma of the tea, but you also get to see the wonderful display of the leaves and how they “blossom” when they come in contact with the water. The Water :
An important role in making a nice cup of tea is the quality of water. The quality of water will affect the way the tea leaves dissolve in and therefore the quality of the tea. Lu Yu said “spring water was best, followed by river water, and then well water”. The amount of minerals in the water seems to have been an important consideration. However, for most people nowadays the problem is that it’s practically impossible to find such “natural” water that is unpolluted. As for tap water, that is often highly chlorinated. The best option therefore is one of the various types of bottled spring water, now available everywhere.

Next week, I will give you some tips about how to make a nice cup of tea. Before that, you can see our teas here. Labels: how to make chinese tea |

Chinese Green Tea

Is any other food or drink reported to have as many health benefits as Chinese green tea? The Chinese have known about the medicinal benefits of green tea since ancient times, using it to treat everything from headaches to depression. In her book Green Tea: The Natural Secret for a Healthier Life, Nadine Taylor states that green tea has been used as a medicine in China for at least 4,000 years.
Today, scientific research in both Asia and the west is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. For example, in 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good ( HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.
To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:
* cancer * rheumatoid arthritis * high cholesterol levels * cariovascular disease * infection

Tea For Cancer Patients

“People have been drinking tea for 5,000 years, and many cultures have used teas for medicinal purposes for just about that long,” said John Foxe, a professor of neuroscience and biology at the Nathan Kline Institute, Foxe studies the effects of tea on the brain. Foxe has found that an amino acid present in green, black and teas has dramatic physiologic effects. Known as theanine, the tiny molecule enters the bloodstream, then crosses the critical blood-brain barrier, the selective sieve that allows entry only of certain molecules. “We found that within 20 minutes of drinking a cup of tea, there was an impact on the brain’s alpha waves*,” said Foxe, who studies ways to improve attention. Study subjects were better able to focus after drinking tea, he said, because theanine lowered alpha wave activity. He said there are about 20 to 25 milligrams of theanine in a cup of tea and that the effect on alpha waves lasts about four hours. Theanine acts synergistically with caffeine to produce the calming effect. Foxe has pursued his research under a grant from Unilever, the giant that owns the Lipton tea company. But Dr. Louis Teichholz of Hackensack University Medical Center says the research is still valid. “Just because it was supported by a company does not negate the research,” he said. Scientists from abroad who were not connected with U.S. corporations also presented data. Israeli researcher Dr. Sylvia Mandel said her studies of animal models and epidemiological studies suggest green tea may support the aging brain. Tea drinkers, she said, are less likely to develop ’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Tea has many benefits for cancer patients. Obesity is a serious problem in our modern world and we are always looking for an "easy fix" to help us shed extra pounds. One of the latest weight loss trends is oolong tea (also spelled wolong tea or wulong tea). Will drinking oolong tea really help us lose weight? Wu long tea is not a new product - it has a long history going back hundreds of years. Wu long tea probably originates in China's Fujian province, but it is now produced in Taiwan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, India, as well as in China. Due to its geographical position and mountainous terrain,Fujian produces the best oolong tea in the world.
According to the American Obesity Association, obesity "is the second leading cause of preventable death in the U.S. Approximately 127 million adults in the U.S. are overweight, 60 million obese, and 9 million severely obese."
so, what about the relationship between oolong tea and weight loss? Japanese study found that oolong tea can suppress lipid metabolism which has the effect of suppressing fatty accumulation and body weight increases. The study concludes that long-term consumption of 00long tea is beneficial for the suppression of diet induced obesity.
We are selling two kinds of Oolong tea Ti Kuan Yin Oolong Tea and Golden Osmanthus Oolong Tea , both of them are produce in Fujian. You can buy it here.Labels: Oolong tea, oolong tea and weight loss |

Green tea is a wonderful beverage, and when freshly brewed, it enhances memory and focus and fights mental fatigue. Green tea contains catechines(儿茶酸) , which help you relax mentally, yet also keeps your wits sharpened. Green tea also helps maintain positive mood states and fights against many brain disorders. Polyphenols(多酚) are powerful antioxidants found in green tea that can boost the availability of the important signaling brain substance dopamine in brain circuits. Dopamine is vital in creating positive mood states. Polyphenols also help the brain and body run smoothly by maintaining a steady supply of our body’s primary fuel: glucose. These powerful polyphenols also help prevent cancer and heart attacks. To sum up,green tea prevents cancer. We have two kinds of green tea, Jasmine Green Tea and Fujian Maofeng Green Tea, you can click here to buy them. Labels: green tea, green tea prevents cancer |
